Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional territories of many Indigenous Nations.

In Western Saskatchewan, we are situated on Treaty 6 land, which includes the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

In Alberta, we recognize that we operate on Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 lands. These are the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, the Stoney Nakoda Nation (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley bands), and the many members of the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Anishinaabe, and Métis peoples.

We honor the histories, languages, and cultures of these communities who have lived on and cared for these lands for generations, and we commit to fostering respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples.
